Holiday Season

The boo boos' first holiday season came and it was fast gone in the blink of an eye. Thanksgiving was great, not only the weather starts to cool off nicely but the food appeals to most babies, including Charlotte and Anais. They devoured their turkey, sweet potatoes and mac and cheese. Since this blog entry is long overdue, I am trying to recall the most I can and give some highlights. Around this time, Venetta Johnson joined the family as our nanny. I have no words to describe how awesome she is with the boo boos, Clark and myself included. From the first day the girls loved her, giggling away. She took over (in a good way) on things that needed to get done for the girls. She cooks, they do arts and crafts, sign together, and she always checks on them during the weekend.

Fast forward to my favorite season of the year, December. The boo boos are playing with each other more and more. When one of them cries feeling sick or tired, the other one keeps quiet for mom and dad to help. Anais is talking non stop like a little martian (Marcianito, in Spanish). Charlotte prefers venturing out, moving reaching for everything to grab and play with. They both looove to eat, although once in a while the inner toddler kicks in and they only want cheese food and yogurt. Charlotte enjoys her food by mumbling or humming with a mouthful of food; "yum, yum, yum, yum...yum, yum, yum, yum"

I was very busy with work in December and I even traveled for a week. I missed the girls soooo much, I don't know how Clark or anyone else does it. I know Clark misses seeing their big smiles in the mornings. Nonetheless, we took the time to take the girls to see Santa! After an hour in line, the boo boos were cool and calm and we couldn't hope for a better picture of their first encounter with Santa Clause :)

For Xmas we decided to go to Napa and Sonoma with my little sis Annabella and my parents. It was actually a pretty good and easy trip, even though some of the adults got sick. But we were able to visit some wineries, enjoy some food and obviously the weather! which makes me wonder why we live in Chicago.

NYE was uneventful, not much partying over here but sipping on bubbly after the boo boos went to bed. As we settled in back to our routine after the trip, we look forward to each day with the boo boos and their new tricks. The boo boos are so different that they don't develop the same skills at the same time. Charlotte is more focused on her motor skills and Anais is all about comprehension and talking. They both loved jogging with mom and daddy and their new ride!
